Is it really $31k?

Accepted Answer

Yes!  The price covers everything listed.  You may choose to provide more beverages over and above the minimum spend of $1000.  I’ll put you in touch with Domaine Thomson to discuss what would work best for you and any additional bar tab spend we can add to your final invoice.And any additional Hair & Makeup/ Florals/ etc will cost extra.

Question 2

Why 47 people?

That’s the sweet spot!  We can cope with 2 or 3 more people but 47 is a comfortable fit.  And I didn’t want to give you pricing for 20, knowing you’d likely be bringing more guests and it wouldn’t be a good estimate of pricing (if there are only 20 of you, the price will of course be less!)

Can we add to the package?

We’ll talk through what that might be.  There is only space to add a handful more guests.But you are welcome to add things like transport for you and/or your guests, extra hair & makeup, extra flowers, supper later in the night, videography.  This is not a full and exhaustive list - if you have a request, please ask!I’ll let you know what extra costs will be.  You get to make the final decision about what you do or don’t add to the base package.

Question 4

Is there any way we can trim the price?

Yes! Venue hire included is for Friday - Sunday events.  If you’d like to celebrate Wednesday or Thursday a discount applies.If you only have 32 people to cater for (including the two of you) you’ll only pay for catering for 32.You might choose to just bring in the band for the evening, and play music through provided speakers during canapes.Let's talk about what's important to you and what you'd happily trim.

How much creative control do we get?

I've worked hard to find local legend vendors, you won't get to choose your own vendors, but our first conversation will include discussing what's important to you and how you want your wedding day to feel.The vendors I select for your package will be those who best fit and two of you.After you’ve confirmed your booking I’ll put you in touch with all vendors (if you want me to) to discuss what you’re after from them.You can choose to let your florist know your colour palette and give them creative freedom… or request something specific.Talk to your hair and makeup artists about what style is right for you.Talk with your photographer about what you want covered, what’s important to you to have captured and anything you’re worried about (do many of us actually LIKE being in front of the camera?)You choose what will be served from our caterers menu.

Question 6

What beverages are available for us to choose from?  Is BYO an option?

No as a working vineyard and cellar door BYO isn’t an option.  The wines available are a mix of Domaine Thomson’s Central Otago offerings - Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Rose and Blanc de Noir.And their French wines - Champagne, Cremant, Pinot Noir, Bourgogne Rouge, Bourgogne Blanc and Chardonnay.As well as a selection of beers and non-alcoholic options.I’ll put you in touch with the team at Domaine Thomson to choose the options that are right for you.

Question 7

What does day-of co-ordination cover?

Together the two of you, your vendors and I will create a timeline for your whole day.  From what time your hair & makeup artists will be arriving through delivery of your flowers, ceremony, canapes, dinner, speeches, right through until your the end of the night (which is no later than 11pm.)On the day I’m in charge of full set up and managing that timeline.  Which can include managing delays, brainstorming solutions and communicating that to all vendors and your MC… so even if things go a little haywire, the stress isn’t yours and nobody else will even know anything was wrong.

How far in advance do we have to book?

That depends on a few variables.  If you want to get married on a Saturday in February, expect to be booking over a year in advance - February is the first month to book out for all wedding vendors.If you have flexibility with dates and days of the week, let’s talk.But I’d need a minimum of 6 weeks to put together a package for you.

Yes!  Whether you’re looking for a hotel where you and your guests could all stay… or something special for the two of you, I can recommend several options not far from Domaine Thomson.
