I’ve sat down to write about Tracy and Richard’s wedding day with The Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack playing. Because everything about their wedding day was chosen because it’s a part of who they are.

From their choice of Larnach Castle - both have made their lives in and around Dunedin and what’s more Dunedin than Larnach?!

The day began with a ceremony by the reflecting pond on Larnach Castle’s grounds. Richard had intended to arrive by helicopter, and while the weather held enough for us to have the ceremony outdoors, the cloud and fog unfortunately made landing the heli impossible.

Tracy walked down the extraordinary aisle - an archway of greenery - with her Dad. Joining Richard, the bridal party and I on the far side of the reflecting pond while their guests closed around the pond to watch proceedings. With video links set up for guests from around the world who couldn’t make it, to join us.

As the ceremony ended we all went back to the castle for drinks and nibbles and a spectacular magic show (Jonathan Usher was honestly amazing, the best entertainment while Tracy and Richard went off with Trev their photographer for photos)
